What it measures
The percentage of world GDP your passport unlocks without a pre-arranged visa. For every accessible country, we add up its share of the global economy.
A passport that opens the US, EU, and Japan covers a huge share of world GDP. A passport that opens many small economies might have high mobility but low GDP reach.
Why it matters
Tells you which markets your passport unlocks, not just how many countries. Useful if you care about business travel, conferences, or economic opportunity.
What it doesn't capture
- Ignores cultural value, ease of entry, and personal relevance. A high GDP reach doesn't mean those economies matter to your work or interests.
Where the data comes from
World Bank GDP data, combined with passport accessibility per destination.
